The
South Atlantic Medal 1982 |
2nd
April to 14th June 2012 These
dates mark the 30th anniversary of the Falklands conflict of
1982, from the Argentine invasion, to the surrender of Argentine forces
on the Falklands to our brave British troops. On Friday 30th
March I had the very great privilege of meeting a Falklands veteran who
had been in 45 Commando. This meeting reinforced my resolve to place
this page on my website for the duration of the period between now and
14th June in tribute to those of our soldiers, sailors and
airmen who fought to liberate the islands from foreign oppression, and
reaffirm the right of those who live there in their wish to be governed
by the United Kingdom. |
