Obv: a citizen holds a banner in his left hand inscribed with DES JACOB and with his right hand writes on a column AN 3 DE LA, legend around LE PATRIOTISME AFFERMIT LA LIBERTE SUR LAIRAIN

Rev: a cockerel standing on a fallen tower (the Bastille) and holding a pike with a Phrygian cap on top, lion above, legend around JE VEILLE POUR LA PATRIE


Condition: Good very fine; Diameter: 32mm

Notes: the Jacobins were a large radical club whose members included Robespiere and influenced the course of the Revolution. This medal is very rare, doubly so in good condition as here.
