Obv: statue of Louis XV at Rennes on a plinth, two ladies, one each side, arms of Brittany on a shield between them, a lit altar to left, anchor to right, trophies behind

 

Rev: LUDOVICO XV REGI CHRISTIANISSIMO, REDIVIVO ET TRIUMPHANTI, HOC AMORIS PIGNUS, ET SALUTIS PUBLICAE MONUMENTUM COMITIA ARMORICA POSUERE ANNO M DCC XLIV in 7 lines

 

Condition: Good very fine or better, small obverse edge bruise at 10 o’clock; Diameter: 62mm

Notes: The statue stood atop a belltower in the square before Rennes city hall. It was destroyed in the French revolution.
