Rev: Victory hurls thunderbolts from above the kneeling figure of Maria Theresia of Austria, kicking her crown of her head as he does so, FAMA PRVDENTIA ET VIRTVTE above (through his fame wisdom and courage), in exergue AUSTRIAE EXERCITU PROPE PRAGAM FUNDITUS CAESO, ET PRAGA OBSESSA, VI MAJI MDCCLVII
(Total defeat of the Austrian army near Prague, and Prague besieged, the 6th of May 1757)

 

 

Condition: Good very fine, portrait better; Diameter: 48mm

Notes: A battle won by Frederick the Great against the Austrians in the Seven Years War. This medal is in unusually good condition for this issue.
