Rev: 10-line legend (“The department of the Rhone congratulates the King on the wedding of HRH the Duke of Orleans with Princess Hélène of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, celebrated at Fontainebleau the 30th May 1837”), names of dignitaries below.

Notes: Hélène was a protestant who introduced the German Christmas tree to France. One of her two sons from the marriage later fought for the Union in the American Civil War. Her husband died in 1842 having jumped from an out-of-control carriage.
