This was one of six medals Searle did for the Monnaie de Paris as a series on
caricaturists. Pier Leone Ghezzi (28
June 1674 – 6 March 1755) was an Italian Rococco painter
and caricaturist active
in Rome. Searle himself was a famous illustrator, a claim to fame being illustrating the 'St Trinians' books...
