Notes: the RHA is still going strong. The dates on the medal (1823 and 1861) refer to the effective date of its foundation as an independent body and the granting of a royal charter. The medallist, John Woodhouse, was awarded the Academy’s medal (the predecessor of this medal) for modelling, and the following year was made an Associate Academician.
