Rev: engraved 186 SIR JOHN TOBIN within oak and laurel wreath

 

 

Condition: Very fine, obverse scratch in right field, pierced for suspension; Diameter: 38mm

Notes: Sir John Tobin (1763-1851), son of Patrick Tobin of the Isle of Man, was a prominent slave-trader, as well as a palm oil merchant and Mayor of Liverpool 1819-1820. He was knighted in 1820 and built Liscard Hall in 1835.
