Victoria, Golden Jubilee 1887, oval white metal medal by Pinches, extremely rare

 


Obv: crowned and veiled bust of Victoria left, QUEEN VICTORIA BORN MAY 24TH 1819 ASCENDED THE THRONE 20TH JUNE 1837 around

 

Rev: JUBILEE OF HER MAJESTY’S REIGN below crown within wreath of rose thistle and shamrock, in which is the legend IN CORDIBUS IMPERIUM (‘In the heart of Empire’)


Condition: Almost extremely fine; Diameter: 31x37mm

Notes: I have only once seen this medal before, in a Baldwin’s Auctions sale in about the late 1990s.
