Rev: Pamplona surrenders her keys to a mounted Roman general, ENGLAND PROTECTS THE TOVVN OF POMPEI above, in exergue CAPITULATION OF PAMPLUNE OCTOBER THE 31 MDCCCXIII


Condition: About extremely fine, much original brilliance to reverse; Diameter: 41mm

Notes: As a sidenote, it’s interesting that a prominent role was played by General Enrique O’Donnell in fighting with Wellington. He was a descendant of the O’Donnell chiefs who fled Ireland after the Battle of the Boyne.
