Rev: A mounted knight in armour left, PRO REGE DIMICO above

 

Condition: Extremely fine; Diameter: 55mm

Notes: The motto on the reverse is that of the Dymoke family, hereditary King’s Champions. The 1821 coronation was the last time the Champion performed his duties at the coronation banquet and the role has fallen into abeyance. The Dymoke family are now the standard bearers of England.
