Notes: Princess Mary (1631-1660) was the eldest daughter of Charles I and Henrietta Maria and first to be given the title Princess Royal (which I always thought was something of a tautology). She married William at the Chapel Royal on 2nd May 1641 aged just 9. She moved to the Netherlands with her mother upon the outbreak of the English Civil War and was the mother of William III of Orange, later king of England.
