Condition: Almost extremely fine; Diameter: 40mm

 

 

Notes: Sardinia and Minorca were captured by Britain as part of the War of the Spanish Succession. Minorca’s Spanish commander committed suicide by jumping from a window. Minorca (Menorca) was confirmed as a British possession by the Treaty of Utrecht (1713) and remained so until 1802, with a brief interlude during the Seven Years’ War (1756-1763).
