Rev: Charlotte stands holding a sceptre, crowned by Fame

Condition: Extremely fine or nearly so, minor mark to cheek, iridescent steel-blue toning; Diameter: 34mm

 

Notes: Charlotte came from a minor German duchy. She met George III for the first time just six hours before they were married at St James’s Palace on 8th September 1761. On 22nd September she was crowned Queen. “There’s no time like the present” as the saying goes.
