Obv: uniformed bust left of Nelson, GALLANT NELSON DIED OCTR 21 OFF CAPE TRAFALGAR

 

Rev: eye of Providence above compass, cross, anchor and other symbols, Noah’s ark and rainbow below, NELSONIC CRIMSON OAKES COMMENCED JANY 19 1808 around

 

Condition: Very fine, some staining in parts, pierced at 12 o’clock for suspension; Diameter: 53mm

Notes: This was apparently a friendly society founded in the Black Country and dissolved in 1927. The Masonic symbols have led to speculation that Nelson may have been a freemason.
