Obv: bust of Britannia left between cap of liberty and trident, O FAIR BRITANNIA HAIL around
Rev: Victory advancing right with cornucopiae and French trophy

Notes: Belle Isle is off the Breton coast. It was captured by British forces on 7th June 1761 but returned to France at the conclusion of the Seven Years War in 1763. This medal is an adaptation of Kirk’s medal for the capture of Louisburg in 1758.
