Rev: giant francisca between peasant standing and woman seated with children, TRAVAILLLE FAMILLE PATRIE in exergue

 

 

Condition: extremely fine; Diameter: 68mm

 

Notes: Philippe Pétain (1856-1951) led the government of ‘Vichy France’ during the Second World War, in collaboration with the Germans. After the war he was sentenced to death but this was commuted to life imprisonment in consideration of his exemplary military leadership during the First World War.
